THE PUBLIC RECORD

Corrections & updates

A material correction should be easy to find, understand, and distinguish from a later development.

The correction policy

A correction should identify the affected article, the statement that was wrong, the corrected information, and the date of the change. The article should retain a correction note. A meaningful update should identify the new development without implying that the original account was necessarily an error.

  • 24 October 2026 · Opening editionNo material corrections are recorded at launch. This log will identify subsequent material corrections when made.

Checking a disputed claim

Start with the article’s supporting source, the relevant passage, and the date or reporting period it describes. A useful correction request identifies the precise sentence in dispute and the record supporting the proposed correction.
